Apkek.org safety check: an earning site, or a betting blog?

We read apkek.org’s own pages, all 2,117 posts in its sitemap, its domain record and its archived homepages, and checked it against Google Safe Browsing, WhatsApp’s rules and India’s 2026 ban on online money games.

Apkek.org is not an app store and does not host APK files. It is a WordPress blog, registered in November 2024 with its owner hidden, that began with WhatsApp tricks and “online earning” posts and now largely publishes guest posts about casino, betting and lottery brands. Google Safe Browsing finds nothing unsafe on it, and opening it loaded no ads, pop-ups or redirects when we checked, so visiting the site is not dangerous. Acting on it is a different matter. Its game posts promote real-money apps such as Daman Game and 91 Club, which have been illegal to offer or advertise in India since 1 May 2026; one walks readers through installing Daman Game and lists its UPI deposits. Its WhatsApp posts push third-party add-ons and modified versions of WhatsApp, and WhatsApp says unofficial versions can carry malware and get your account banned.

Key facts, checked 18 October 2026
  • What it is: a blog of “app reviews”, “online earning” and insurance posts; no APK downloads
  • Domain: apkek.org, registered 23 November 2024 through Namecheap; owner withheld by a privacy service
  • Contact: a free Gmail address and a WhatsApp chat to a +92 (Pakistan) number; no company name or address
  • Posts: 2,117 in its sitemap; at least 795 name a casino, betting, lottery or money-game brand
  • Guest posts: “Write for Us” offers contributors an “instant do-follow backlink”; every page links to Thai and Vietnamese betting sites
  • Google Safe Browsing: “No unsafe content found”
  • Indian law: online money games banned from 1 May 2026; advertising them carries up to 2 years in prison, a ₹50 lakh fine, or both
  • Verdict: safe to open, not safe to follow

This review is built from the site itself, read on 18 October 2026: its homepage, About, Contact, Disclaimer and Write for Us pages, every post listed in its sitemaps, its domain registration record, its homepage as archived in 2025 and 2026, and the five lookalike sites that rank next to it. We did not install any app it mentions. To avoid sending traffic to the money-game pages it promotes, we cite apkek.org’s pages as plain text rather than links.

What apkek.org is, and what it is not

The name suggests an APK store, a place to download Android app files. It is not one. Apkek.org runs on WordPress with five menu items: Home, WhatsApp, App Review, Online Earning and Insurance. Its posts describe apps and games; they do not offer files. In the WhatsApp posts we opened, the links labelled “apk download” are tag pages that list other posts, and there is no download button at all. The game posts send readers to the games’ own websites to get the APK.

Its About page describes the site as a team of “passionate tech enthusiasts” and makes one specific promise:

Apkek.org About Us page on 18 October 2026 under the heading Unbiased and Honest Reviews, saying our reviews are completely unbiased, we don’t write reviews for anyone, nor do we favor any products or services, beside a sidebar of 23win and EE88 betting posts
Apkek.org’s About page, captured 18 October 2026: “we don’t write reviews for anyone, nor do we favor any products or services.” The sidebar beside it advertises posts about 23win and EE88, two betting platforms.

The rest of the site contradicts that sentence, as the next sections show.

Who runs apkek.org?

The site does not say. The About, Contact and Disclaimer pages name no company, person or address. What can be checked:

  • Domain record. apkek.org was registered on 23 November 2024 through Namecheap, with the owner’s details withheld by a privacy service, and it is due to expire on 23 November 2026. Its name servers are Cloudflare’s.
  • Contact. The only email given is a free Gmail address. The WhatsApp chat button on every page opens a chat with a +92 number, Pakistan’s country code.
  • The older apkek.com. A blog called Apkek has existed at apkek.com since December 2021, writing for readers in Pakistan about “online earning” apps, and some of its article titles (the Markaz reselling app, earning money on TikTok) also appear on apkek.org. Neither site says whether the same people run both.
  • The Write for Us page still asks contributors to email “[insert email address here]”, a template placeholder nobody replaced.

How the site changed: WhatsApp tricks to betting posts

The Wayback Machine has copies of apkek.org’s homepage from its first month to August 2026. In June 2025, when Ahrefs first recorded searches for “apkek org” (24 June 2025), the homepage was almost entirely WhatsApp “tools”:

Apkek.org homepage as archived by the Wayback Machine on 19 June 2025, captured 18 October 2026, showing posts titled WhatsApp Call Recorder, Whatsbox Tools App for WhatsApp DP and View Profile App, Offline Chat for WhatsApp No Last Seen Blue Tick, and Premier Deleted Messages Recovery App, dated 13 to 17 June 2025
Apkek.org’s homepage on 19 June 2025 (Wayback Machine, captured 18 October 2026): a call recorder, a “view profile” tool, a way to read chats with no last seen or blue ticks, and deleted-message recovery.

By August 2025 it carried posts on VidMate and “ProShot Premium APK” under the name “Wegocup”. After that the betting posts multiplied. The sitemap dates each post by when it was last modified, which is how we group them here; many older posts were re-dated, so treat the periods as approximate:

Last modifiedPostsBetting*Share

* Posts whose web address contains one of 44 gambling terms (casino, betting, slot, lottery, poker and similar) or one of 97 betting and money-game brand names. It undercounts: in a random sample of 40 posts it did not match, 19 more were betting or lottery brands. The true share across the site is probably nearer two-thirds. By this filter, the share rose from about a quarter of the posts last modified in the site’s first eight months to about half in the second half of 2025.

What apkek.org publishes now

On 18 October 2026, apart from one post on football fixtures, the newest posts on the homepage were guides to Van88 promotions, the 23win homepage, finding the EE88 link, the C168 link, NOHU90 and NK88 fishing games: betting and casino platforms, several with Vietnamese names. They sit under the label “App Review”:

Apkek.org homepage Latest Articles section on 18 October 2026, showing posts titled Van88 Promotions: How to Understand Terms and Conditions and How to Navigate the 23win Trang Chu, and sidebar posts on C168, NOHU90 and NK88 fishing games, all labelled App Review
The “Latest Articles” on apkek.org, captured 18 October 2026: Van88, 23win, C168, NOHU90 and NK88, all filed as “App Review”.

Every page also ends with two blocks of links, one of them headed “Helpful Links: Here are some helpful links for our users”. They point to Thai online-slot and football-betting sites (สล็อตเว็บตรง means “direct slots website”, แทงบอลออนไลน์ “online football betting”), UFABET, sunwin, go88, 789club and others:

Apkek.org footer on 18 October 2026 with a block of red links in Thai and Vietnamese to slot, lottery and football betting sites such as daga88, go88, sunwin, xocdia88 and 789WIN, and a Helpful Links block with Ufabet, 78WIN and more betting site addresses
The footer that appears on every apkek.org page, captured 18 October 2026: links to betting and slot sites, presented as “helpful links for our users”.

The Write for Us page explains what contributors get:

Apkek.org Write for Us page on 18 October 2026 under the heading Instant Do-Follow Backlink, offering contributors an instant do-follow backlink to boost their SEO efforts
Apkek.org’s Write for Us page, captured 18 October 2026: an “instant do-follow backlink”, the kind of link that passes ranking credit to the site it points to.

Put together, apkek.org looks like what search marketers call a link farm: a site with search traffic whose real product is links. Guest posts and footer links from it help betting sites rank in search. Its readers are not who those posts are for: Ahrefs puts searches for “apkek org” at about 219,000 a month, 99% of them from India, where the betting brands it promotes cannot legally operate.

The Indian money-game posts

At least 34 posts name apps that Indian players know as colour-prediction, lottery or rummy games: Daman Game, 91 Club, BDG Win, 55 Club, 82 Lottery, Diuwin, Jalwa Game, Maan Win, Raxi Win, Veer Game, Bharat Club, YaarWin (“India’s #1 colour prediction online gaming platform 2026”, in its own title) and Money Rummy. More than a dozen others pitch Pakistani “earning” games such as 92 PKR, 92 Coco and Super 85, which by the posts’ own description take deposits and pay out through JazzCash and Easypaisa.

These are practical guides. The Daman Game post lists UPI, bank transfer and net banking as payment methods, a referral programme, a deposit page and withdrawal requests, links to the game’s site and to Tiranga Game, and walks readers through sideloading the app:

Apkek.org post Daman Game APK: Installation, Login and Updates on 18 October 2026, with an Installation Guide telling readers to download the latest APK file, open the downloaded package, allow installation permission if requested and complete installation
From apkek.org’s “Daman Game APK: Installation, Login & Updates”, captured 18 October 2026: download the APK, “allow installation permission if requested”, install.

These games are banned in India

The Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025 (Act No. 32 of 2025) received the President’s assent on 22 August 2025. The Ministry of Electronics and IT brought it into effect from 1 May 2026, the same day as the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Rules, 2026. The government’s backgrounder is blunt:

Press Information Bureau backgrounder of 30 April 2026, rendered on 18 October 2026, headed Overview of the PROG Act, 2025, stating that the Act imposes a complete ban on all forms of online money games, applying to games of chance, games of skill and any mix of the two, and prohibits their advertising, promotion and facilitation
PIB backgrounder, 30 April 2026 (rendered from PIB’s PDF on 18 October 2026): “The Act imposes a complete ban on all forms of online money games.”

What the Act itself says:

  • Which games. Section 2(1)(g) defines an online money game as one, “irrespective of whether such game is based on skill, chance, or both”, played by paying fees or “depositing money or other stakes in expectation of winning”. A colour-prediction or rummy app that takes your UPI deposit and pays out winnings is one, whatever it calls itself.
  • What is banned. Section 5 bars offering such games. Section 6 bars any advertisement, “in any media including electronic means of communication, which directly or indirectly promotes or induces any person to play” one. Section 7 bars banks and payment companies from processing payments for them.
  • Penalties. Up to 3 years in prison, a fine of up to ₹1 crore, or both, for offering the games or processing payments; up to 2 years or ₹50 lakh for advertising them; 3 to 5 years and ₹1 to 2 crore for a repeat offence of offering or processing payments (section 9). Offering and processing payments are cognizable and non-bailable (section 10), and the websites can be blocked (section 14).
  • Players. None of the offences in section 9 is committed by playing. The law treats players as the people to protect, but it does not protect their deposits either: a banned operator that stops paying out has no regulator to answer to.

A post that tells Indian readers how to install a money-game app, register with a referral code and deposit through UPI reads like the promotion section 6 describes. Whether anyone acts against apkek.org is for the authorities; for a reader, the point is simpler: the apps these posts lead to are illegal to offer in India, and money deposited in them is not recoverable through any regulator.

The WhatsApp “tools”: what WhatsApp says

The posts that dominated the site in mid-2025 promised ways to see who viewed your profile, save anyone’s display picture, read messages without showing blue ticks, recover deleted messages and post longer statuses. They describe third-party add-ons and, in places, modified versions of WhatsApp. WhatsApp’s own help centre is clear about unofficial versions:

WhatsApp Help Center article About unofficial apps on 18 October 2026: unofficial apps or websites are fake WhatsApp apps developed by third parties, using them violates WhatsApp’s Terms of Service, they might carry malware that can steal your data, and your account might be temporarily or permanently banned
WhatsApp Help Center, “About unofficial apps”, captured 18 October 2026: they violate WhatsApp’s Terms, “might carry malware that can steal your data”, and can get an account “temporarily or permanently banned”.

WhatsApp’s article on temporary bans adds that collecting other users’ profile pictures and statuses (“scraping”) also breaks its Terms. WhatsApp itself has no feature that shows who viewed your profile. And the legitimate versions of what these posts sell are already in the official app: last seen, online status, profile photo and read receipts can all be hidden under Settings → Privacy.

Is apkek.org safe?

To visit, yes. Google’s Safe Browsing service, which powers the warnings in Chrome and Android, reports nothing unsafe on apkek.org:

Google Transparency Report Safe Browsing site status check for apkek.org on 18 October 2026, showing Current status: No unsafe content found, last updated 12 October 2026
Google Safe Browsing, captured 18 October 2026: “No unsafe content found” for apkek.org (Google last updated it on 12 October 2026).

We also loaded the homepage as an Android phone would and logged every request it made. Apart from apkek.org itself, it contacted only Google Fonts, Cloudflare’s analytics and Gravatar: no ad networks, no pop-ups, no redirects to other sites. So the site is not a malware trap.

The risk is in following it:

  • Sideloaded APKs. Installing an app from outside the Play Store means allowing “install unknown apps” and skipping Google’s checks, and the game posts tell readers to install APK files.
  • Money games. Deposits go to operators that are banned in India and answer to no regulator here.
  • WhatsApp mods. In WhatsApp’s words, unofficial apps “might carry malware that can steal your data”, and using them can get your account banned.
  • Referral chains. “Earning” apps that pay for invites reward you for bringing friends into the same risks.

Apkek.com, apkek.pk and the other lookalikes

Search for the name and five other sites appear on the first page. We opened each on 18 October 2026:

DomainWhat we found
apkek.orgThis site: a WordPress blog registered on 23 November 2024
apkek.comAn older “online earning” blog with the same name, registered on 24 December 2021 and aimed at readers in Pakistan; some of its article titles (on the Markaz reselling app and earning money on TikTok) also appear on apkek.org; newest post we saw: January 2025
apkek.pkPosts on the same money-game names that apkek.org covers (Maan Win, Raxi Win, Veer Game, Jalwa Game, BDG), dated September and October 2026
apkek.netUnrelated: a download page for “EK App”, a European wholesale ordering app
apkekorg.orgA general guest-post blog whose homepage carries an SEO article explaining “apkek”
apkekorg.comAn “India app reviews” site using the name

Several appear to exist only because the name gets searched: a page about “apkek” on an unrelated domain collects that traffic.

If you did win money: the tax

Winnings are taxable whatever their source. Under section 194 of the Income-tax Act, 2025, net winnings from any online game, and winnings from lotteries, card games and “gambling or betting of any form or nature”, are taxed at a flat 30% plus 4% cess. No expenses can be deducted (section 94(4)), and unlike capital gains there is no relief for income below the basic exemption limit; the new-regime rebate covers only tax at slab rates (section 156(3)). The law also requires the payer to deduct tax at source on net winnings when you withdraw and at the end of the year (section 393(3)); an offshore or banned operator will not, which leaves the whole tax with you when you file. Referral bonuses and “task” payments from earning apps are ordinary income at your slab rate. The income tax calculator shows the slab side, and the TDS explainer covers how deducted tax is credited.

If you deposited money or installed an app

  1. Stop depositing, including any “fee” or “tax” demanded before a withdrawal is released; that demand is a common sign of a scam.
  2. Report it. Call the national cyber-fraud helpline 1930 or file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in. Reporting quickly gives your bank the best chance of holding the money.
  3. Uninstall the app and, in Android settings, turn off “Install unknown apps” for the browser or file manager you used. Run a Google Play Protect scan.
  4. Check UPI mandates in your UPI app and cancel any autopay you did not set up.
  5. If you used a WhatsApp mod, back up your chats, uninstall it and reinstall WhatsApp from the Play Store.

Verdict

Safe to open, not safe to follow. Apkek.org is a real website, but not the app store or earning platform its name and its About page suggest. It is an anonymous guest-post blog whose posts now largely promote foreign betting brands, whose Indian game guides lead to money-game apps banned since 1 May 2026, and whose WhatsApp posts steer readers to add-ons and “mod” versions that WhatsApp warns against. Nothing on it is worth installing. If you want to earn online without depositing money, real freelance work is the dependable route; our guide to freelancing and GST covers the tax side.

Apkek.org

Common questions

Safe to open, not safe to follow. Google Safe Browsing reports no unsafe content on apkek.org, and the homepage loaded no ads, pop-ups or redirects when we checked on 18 October 2026. But its game posts promote real-money game apps that have been banned in India since 1 May 2026, and its WhatsApp posts point readers to add-ons and modified WhatsApp versions, which WhatsApp says break its Terms and can get accounts banned.

It is a real website, but not what its name suggests. It hosts no APK files and runs no earning platform. It is an anonymous WordPress blog that publishes guest posts and footer links, now largely for casino, betting and lottery brands.

No. Its WhatsApp-tool posts have no download buttons, and the links labelled apk download are tag pages listing other posts. Its game posts send readers to the games' own websites to download the APK.

It does not say. The domain was registered on 23 November 2024 through Namecheap with the owner's details withheld by a privacy service. The site's only contacts are a Gmail address and a WhatsApp chat to a +92 (Pakistan) number.

Apkek.org itself pays nothing. The earning apps it writes about are mostly real-money games that take deposits. In India, offering or advertising them has been an offence since 1 May 2026, and money deposited with a banned operator has no regulator to recover it from.

They are separate domains with the same name and overlapping topics; apkek.pk also writes about Maan Win, Raxi Win, Veer Game, Jalwa Game and BDG. Neither site says who owns it or whether they are connected.

No. Under the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Act, 2025, a game played by depositing money in expectation of winning is an online money game whether it is based on skill, chance or both. Offering, advertising or processing payments for such games is banned, and the Act and its Rules have been in force since 1 May 2026.

The Act's offences are offering the games (up to 3 years or ₹1 crore), advertising them (up to 2 years or ₹50 lakh) and processing payments for them. Playing is not one of the offences, but deposits are unprotected and banks are barred from processing them.

Stop paying, including any fee or tax demanded to release a withdrawal. Call the national cyber-fraud helpline 1930 or report at cybercrime.gov.in as soon as possible. Uninstall the app, turn off install unknown apps, run a Play Protect scan and cancel any UPI autopay you did not set up.

Yes. Under section 194 of the Income-tax Act, 2025, net winnings from online games and winnings from lotteries, card games, gambling or betting are taxed at a flat 30 percent plus 4 percent cess, with no deduction for expenses and no basic exemption.
